[a new winner]

Up until today, my favorite obliviously stupid post from a right-wing blogger came in the form of a post by Glenn Beck on his website called, “How to win the argument de jour with logic and facts” that promised to give his followers the rhetorical tools to dismantle anyone foolish enough to suggest that, like, progressive taxation made sense and the concept of wealth distribution wasn’t going to doom us all to the gulag. I loved this bit of stupid very much because it used the football as a metaphor, and insisted that people would be shown the error of their ways by extending the idea of working for an equitable system were expanded to the NFL. He then went on to outline, unwittingly, the exact system that the NFL uses in an attempt to portray how it would destroy the game forever.

It’s beautiful, and I still get a little thrill when I think about it.

However. On LiveJournal, this goofball who frequents the political communities offered a new one:

Some Notre Dame Students to Forego Commencement in Protest of Obama Visit
This isn’t about the overall controversy. This is just about the following.
___
"White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that the president is excited to be addressing students at Sunday’s commencement. He said that while there is one group organizing a boycott, there are 23 groups that have formed in support of the invitation to have Obama speak.
"The valedictorian is supportive of the invitation," Gibbs told reporters. He added that public polling done by Pew shows "a majority of Catholics are in support of the invitation to speak at the commencement."
Gibbs also cautioned the press to recognize that those who are against the Obama’s visit are in the minority. "I think it’s important to understand it appears as if the vast majority of students and the majority of Catholics are supportive of the invitation the president accepted," he said. "And I know he’s greatly looking forward to — to seeing them."
___
Thank you, Secretary Gibbs, for this important lesson from the Obama Administration:
Minorities don’t matter.
It appears, as always, the rules are what Liberals say they are from moment to moment.

Did you catch that? The dude thinks that he’s found an insightful point and exposed some rank hypocrisy because he’s confused a mathematical minority with a sociological minority. In other words, he thinks that having an idea that most people think is crazy and stupid makes you part black. That, like, if you’re out with a bunch of liberal friends, and they all want to go to Taco Bell for dinner, and you want to go to Chick-Fil-A, they’re oppressing a minority if you don’t get your waffle fries.
