 STAPLE! Interview: Jeffrey Brown
clumsy_lg The STAPLE! indie comics expo comes to Austin this weekend. I had a chat, as the English say, with featured guest Jeffrey Brown, he of Clumsy and Every Girl Is The End Of The World For Me semi-fame. We talked about autobiographical comics and how he really just wants to write X-Men and stuff. Really nice dude, very shy at first, like you might expect from a dude who makes sensitive comics about girls.

Faking Your Way Through: STAPLE! The Independent Media Expo
Also on the subject of STAPLE!, I did another in my “Faking Your Way Through” series for Decider. The concept here is I take a fairly niche-market event and offer a cheat-sheet to people who want to fit in; previous entries included the FronteraFest fringe festival and the art-centric East Austin Studio Tour. I’m more passionate about comics than I am theatre or art, and I think this piece came out better for it.

nostory Anyway, enough about me. I meant to post because my friend Katie has a pretty remarkable etsy shop and I wanted to encourage people to give her all their dollars.

More soon.
