Never, ever do business with AT&T if you require timely service or straight answers from the people you talk to. They’re very good at offering half-assed apologies and explaining that the person you were just talking to didn’t know what he or she was talking about, but I find that to be less useful than having the service I ordered provided as specified. After nearly three weeks of being pushed back and pushed back, I called Grande Communications yesterday, and they set everything up twenty-four hours later. Regular blogging will commence presently.

Although maybe a little less regularly than in the London days, as I went ahead and did something deeply uncharacteristic yesterday and got myself a job. This is the first job I’ve had where there’s, like, a boss and hours and stuff since 2003, but I’m excited about it. I’m working in (and outside of) the office of a deeply progressive, do-gooder criminal defense law firm here in Austin, and I expect to both make myself useful and learn much.

This entry’s a bit of a brain-dump, but it’s been a while since I had time to write and Internet access, so indulge me, and I’ll start making fun of John McCain again very soon. In the meantime, here’s Sarah Silverman, doing it for me:

Did you hear about Jackie Mason’s response to Silverman?
