[seriously?]

June 6th, 2008 · No Comments

The Hammersmith & City and District lines on the underground are closed today because they’re detonating and defusing a bomb from World War II that they found this week.

It’s not enough that they spend millions of pounds informing the good people of London that thieves are stalking them for their iPods, that terrorists are lurking at every bus stop, that even the goddamn big brother CCTV-eye of the TV licence bureau is going to bust their door down for failing to pay for the privilege of watching four channels of boring television-

Now we have to worry about being blown up by the fucking nazis.

They found a second one a few days after the underground bomb- this one by City Airport. How many fucking Nazi bombs are there, that they find two in one week?

You know, I know comparing them isn’t particularly useful, but shit like this really does make me miss Texas. In Texas, your chances of being killed by a bomb dropped under orders from hitler are pretty fucking minimal. I mean, sure, there’s probably the odd German spy who settled somewhere out near Abilene and hid out when he realized that the war wasn’t going to turn out so well, and who even in his old age is waiting for the Hun to rise again, but that’s it. Here, though, you’ve got to watch out for it on the tube, at the airport.

It is 2008. It would be downright embarrassing to be killed by Hitler now.
